LISTENING SCRIPT 1 Megan: Hi, Jake! Are you enjoying the holidays? Jake: Hi, Megan, Yes, I am, thanks. I'm doing lots of sports. Megan: My cousin Tina has just joined the new sports centre in town. Is that where you go, too? Jake: Actually, I prefer the park. They’ve got a really good skateboarding place there. Megan: My brother, Ben, likes the park too, but he’s spending all his time at the stadium at the moment. Jake: I hear it's got a great café. Megan: Oh, he doesn't go there - he’s too busy at the football club. Jake: What about your other brother? Megan: James? Now he does spend all his time at the café. Jake: That’s new too isn’t it? Megan: Yes, that’s right - it’s next to the cinema. Jake: What's it like? Have you been? Megan: Not yet, but I might go after swimming one day. Jake: Do you go to the indoor or the outdoor pool? Megan: The outdoor one. It’s near the museum. Jake: I know. It's opposite the theatre, isn’t it? Megan: That’s right. That’s where my friend Sam spends all her time. She wants to be an actress! ~~(*)~~ LISTENING SCRIPT 2 Woman: Hello. Poseidon Aquarium. Can I help you? Ben: Hello. I'm planning to visit the aquarium tomorrow. Can you tell me your opening times? Woman: Yes, of course. We open at ten and close at half past six, but we sell our last tickets at half past five. There’s no entry after that. Ben: And what does it cost? Woman: It's £15 for adults and £8 for people under sixteen. Ben: I’m sixteen, but I’m a student. Woman: That will be £10 then. Ben: Do you have any special events tomorrow? Woman: Yes, there's a talk on dolphins. There’s one at ten o'clock, one at half past eleven and then again at two. Ben: That sounds good. Is there a pizza restaurant at the aquarium? Woman: I’m afraid it’s closed at the moment. But you can get sandwiches at the café. Ben: No hot food, like burgers or chips then? Woman: I'm afraid not. Ben: OK. And the aquarium is opposite the park, is that right? Woman: No, it’s the museum which is opposite the park. We're opposite the university. Ben: Thank you very much. Woman: You’re welcome.
