GRAMMAR
I Các giới từ (prepositions):
a) Chỉ nơi chốn: to; on; at; in; into; between; opposite; next to; from ... to, to the left of, to the right of, beside, behind, in front of, above, under, over, among, at the back of, near,across
b) Chỉ thời gian: at; in; on; from ... to; between; until; before; after, fo, during, till
c) Các giới từ khác:
Ex: by car; by train; on foot

 II.. Các dạng câu:
Câu cảm thán (an exclamatory sentence): 
What + (a/an) + adj + N(s/es)!
Ex:	* Những lời phàn nàn (complaints):
	- What an expensive dress!
	- What a wet day!
	* Những lời khen ngợi (compliment):
	- What a great party!
	- What a bright room!
b) Câu hỏi:
* Wh - questions:
Ex:	- Where are you going? - I am going to the market.
	- Why don't you go to school? - Because we have a vacation.
	- Where does she work? - She works at a supermarket.
* Yes - No questions:
Ex:	- Are you a student? - Yes, I am.
	- Does she have English on Monday? - No, she doesn't.
* Or questions:
Ex:	- Do you like soccer or volleyball? - I like soccer.
Is he a mechanic or a driver? - He is a mechanic.
Từ để hỏi(Wh-questions)
What: hỏi cái gì	What time: hỏi giờ	How far: hỏi bao xa
When: hỏi khi nào	Who: hỏi người	How long: hỏi bao lâu
Where: hỏi ở đâu	Why: hỏi tại sao	How: hỏi phương tiện 
How much: hỏi tiền, hỏi số lượng của danh từ không đếm được
How often: hỏi bao lâu một lần	
How many:hỏi số lượng của danh từ đếm được	
Whose: của ai What color: hỏi màu sắc
c) Câu đề nghị (suggestions):
Ex:	- Let's go swimming. 
	Let's + V...= Shall we + V.?
	- Why don't you play soccer? 
	Why don't you/we + V...?
	- Would you like to see a movie?
	Would you like + to – infinitive (động từ nguyên dạng có “to”)...?
	- Should we play volleyball?
	Should we + V...?
	- What about watching TV?
	What about + V-ing ...?
d) Câu đáp lại lời đề nghị:
* Sự tán thành (agreement):
	- Good idea.
	- Great!
- Yes, I’d love to./ OK./ All right./ Yes, of course./ Yes, please.
* Không tán thành (disagreement):
	- I'm sorry, I can't./ What a pity!.../ No, thanks./ .
	- I'm sorry, I can't. Thanks any way.
	- I would love to but ...
h) Lời hướng dẫn (directions):
Ex:	- Excuse me. Could you show me the way to the supermarket, please? 
(hỏi thăm đường đi)
	- OK. Go straight ahead. Take the first street on the right. The supermarket is in front of you. 	 (chỉ đường)
	- Could you tell me how to get the souvenir shop?
III. Thể so sánh:
a) So sánh hơn (comparative):
* Tính từ ngắn:
Ex:	- She is thinner than me. 	(I am)
	- This box is bigger than that one. 	(box)
S1 +be + adj-er + than +S2.
* Tính từ dài:
Ex:	- This student is more intelligent than that one. 	(student)
S1 +be + more + long adj + than +S2.
b) So sánh nhất (superlative):
the + adj-est ...
* Tính từ ngắn: 
Ex: 	- She is the tallest girl in my class.
the + most + adj ...
 * Tính từ dài:
Ex:	- This is the most beautiful village in the country.
* Tính từ đặc biệt:
	- good / well → the best	: tốt nhất, khoẻ nhất
	- many / much → the most	 : nhiều nhất
	- little → the least	: nhỏ nhất, ít nhất
	- bad → the worst	: xấu nhất, kém nhất
	- far → the farthest / the furthest : xa nhất
 - old → the oldest/ eldest : già, cũ hơn
 - new → newest : mới hơn
 - few → fewest : ít hơn
* Note: những tính từ ngắn là tính từ có 1 âm tiết và những tính từ có 2 âm tiết kết thúc là “ le/ er/ ow/ et/ y( narrow, clever, happy/ quiet, simple). Những tính từ kết thúc là y đổi thành “I” rồi thêm đuôi “er” hay “est”.
IV.. Các thì (tenses):
a) Thì hiện tại đơn (simple present tense):
Usage để diễn tả một thói quen, một sự việc xảy ra thường xuyên ở hiện tại, hay 1 chân lí .Trong câu thường có các trạng từ chỉ thời gian ; everyday , often ,sometimes, always, usually, seldom, never, occassionally, frequently..
Form : 
Khẳng định (positive form)
 I,we, they ,you, dtừ số nhiều + V
 She , he , it ,Dtừ số ít, Dt không đếm được + Vs/es
Ex:	- I go to school every morning.	
	 - She gets up at 6 o'clock. Then she has breakfast at 6.30 and goes to school at 6.40.
* Phủ định (negative form):
 I,we, they ,you, dtừ số nhiều don’t + V.
 She , he , it ,Dtừ số ít, Dt không đếm được + doesn’t + V.
Ex: 	- She isn't at home.
	- Lan doesn't like milk.
* Nghi vấn (interrogative form)
 Do / Does + S + V ..?
 Yes , S + do /does .
 No , S + don’t / doesn’t.
	Ex	- Is she at home?
	- Does Lan like milk?
* Note: 1 số động từ thường chỉ dùng ở thì đơn giản: like/ love/ enjoy/ prefer/ want/ need/ think/ hope/ taste/ smell/ feel/ seem,remember, hear,have(có,học), know, dislike, hate, understand, 
* Khi nào thêm S, khi nào thêm ES sau động từ? Ta có quy tắc rất dễ nhớ như sau: 
+ ĐỘNG TỪ TẬN CÙNG LÀ CH, O, S, SH, X, Z THÌ TA THÊM ES. 
+ KHI ĐỘNG TỪ TẬN CÙNG BẰNG Y trước Y là phụ âm , TA ĐỔI Y THÀNH I RỒI THÊM ES: FLY --> FLIES... 
+ TẤT CẢ CÁC ĐỘNG TỪ CÒN LẠI, TA THÊM S. 
- Ngoại lệ: HAVE --> HAS 
* Cách đọc s/es sau động từ:
- Nếu từ kết thúc bằng- s, -ss,- ch, -sh, -x, -z (hoặc- ze), -ge, -ce( thì ta phát âm là /iz/
Ex: changes/ iz/ ; practices/ iz/ ( cách viết khác là : practise - phát âm tương tự )
buzzes/iz/ , recognizes /iz/
- Nếu từ kết thúc bằng-p,-k,- t,- f thì phát âm là /s/ 
cooks /s/ ; stops / s/
Lưu ý: "laugh" phiên âm là : [la: f ] nên khi chia : laughs đọc là /s/ ( từ đặc biệt cần nhớ)
- Những từ còn lại phát âm là /z/ ( zờ )
plays /z/

	b) Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn (present progressive tense):
- Usage(cách dùng): Diễn tả sự việc đang xảy ra tại lúc nói hay ở hiện tại. 
 +các trạng từ chỉ thời gian đặt ở đầu hoặc cuối câu: now, at present, at the moment, right now, 
 + Ở đầu câu có : Listen./ Look./ Be quiet./ Hurry up./ It’s seven o’clock/
S + am / is / are + V-ing...
* Khẳng định:
Ex:	- We are going to the zoo at the moment.
	S + am / is / are + not + V-ing...
* Phủ định:
Ex: 	- We are not going to the zoo at the moment.
Am / Is / Are + S + V-ing ...?
	* Nghi vấn:
Ex: 	- Are they singing now?
* Cách thêm đuôi “ing” vào sau động từ:
+ Những động từ tận cùng là “e” trước e là phụ âm , khi thêm –ing thì bỏ “e”.
Eg: 
- Smile => smiling
- Make => making
+ Những động từ tận cùng “ie”, thì biến đổi “ie” thành “y”, rồi thêm – Ing
Eg:
- Die => dying
- Lie => lying
- Tie => tying
+ Tuy nhiên, một số trường hợp động từ có tận cùng là “e”, nhưng khi thêm – Ing ta không bỏ “e”.
Eg:
- Age => ageing (lão hóa)
- Dye => dyeing (nhuộm)
- Singe => singeing (cháy xém)
+ những động từ một âm tiết và 2 âm tiết nhưng trọng âm thứ 2 có tận cùng là một phụ âm (consonant) trước nó là một nguyên âm thì phải gấp đôi phụ âm đó trước khi thêm –Ing.
(ngoại trừ kết thúc là h, x, w)
Eg:
- Sob => sobbing
- Jog => jogging
- Saw => sawing
- Prefer => preferring
- Begin => beginning
 c) Thì tương lai đơn (simple future tense):
Usage: nói về hành động xẽ sảy ra trong tương lai không có kế hoạch và không có chuẩn bị mà được quyết định lúc nói.
*Trong câu có thể xuất hiện các động từ như: think/ hope hay tình huống không chắc chắn sẽ xảy ra
* Khẳng định:
S + will + V...
 Ex: 	- I will (shall) do a test tomorrow. She will eat first. Then she will take a 
shower.
S + will + not + V...
* Phủ định:
Ex:	- I will not do a test tomorrow.
	 won't
Will+ S + V .?
	* Nghi vấn:
Ex: - Will they be late for school?
d) Thì tương lai theo dự định:
Usage: Nói về hành động sẽ xảy ra trong tương lai gần có kế hoạch và dự định chắc chắn xảy ra hay hành động có dấu hiệu chắc chắn sẽ xảy ra: 
Eg: He is a good student. He is studying hard. He is going to pass the exam. 
* Khẳng định:
Ex:	- My father is going to go to Paris this evening.
S + am / is / are + going to + V...
* Phủ định:
Ex: 	- Tom and Peter are not going to watch TV tonight.
S + am / is / are + not + going to + V...
* Nghi vấn: 
Ex: 	- Are you going to play soccer tomorrow afternoon?
Am / Is / Are + S + going to + V...?
* Động từ “go”, “ come” được chia như thì hiện tại tiếp diễn.
Trạng từ: tonight, tomorrow, next Sunday, tomorrow morning, this year, this summer
V. Những động từ đi trước “V-ing”: stop,hate, like,dislike, enjoy, practice, start, finish, spend, prefer, .
* DISLIKE DOING SOMETHING = không thích làm gì đó
- I dislike being the center of attention (Tôi không thích làm trung tâm của sự chú ý)
* ENJOY DOING SOMETHING: thích thú, có được niềm vui  khi làm điều gì đó, thích làm gì đó như là một thú vui
- Young children enjoy helping around the house (Trẻ nhỏ thường thích giúp đỡ làm công việc trong nhà)
* FINISH DOING SOMETHING: hoàn tất làm điều gì đó, làm xong việc gì đó
- When I finish typing this lesson, I will reward myself with a coffee. (Khi tôi đánh máy xong bài học này, tôi sẽ tự thưởng cho mình một ly cà phê)
* GIVE UP DOING SOMETHING = QUIT DOING SOMETHING = từ bỏ làm gì đó
- I wonder when my father will stop/quit smoking (Tôi không biết khi nào ba tôi mới bỏ hút thuốc lá)
* PRACTISE DOING SOMETHING: thực tập, thực hành làm gì đó
- You must practise speaking English as much as possible to become more fluent (Bạn phải thực hành nói tiếng Anh càng nhiều càng tốt để trở nên lưu loát hơn)
* START DOING SOMETHING = BEGIN DOING SOMETHING: bắt đầu làm gì đó
- After his business started bringing in profits, his health started going downhill. (Sau khi việc làm ăn của ông ta bắt đầu đem lại lợi nhuận thì sức khỏe ông ấy bắt đầu xuống dốc)
* SPEND TIME DOING SOMETHING: bỏ (thời gian) làm gì đó
-  He spends 4 hours playing computer games every day. (Mỗi ngày, nó bỏ ra 4 tiếng đồng hồ để chơi game vi tính)
* PREFER + V-ING + to + V-ING: thích làm gì hơn làm gì
- I prefer watching TV to playing badminton.( Tôi thích xem ti vi hơn chơi cầu lông.)
* LIKE DOING SOMETHING: thích làm gì đó(nói sở thích của ai đó)
- I like watching documentaries. (Tôi thích xem phim tài liệu)
* HATE DOING SOMETHING: ghét làm gì đó
- Paul hates having his pictures taken (Paul ghét bị chụp ảnh)
VI. Các động từ đi kèm với giới từ:
Look after= take care of: trông nom, chăm sóc
Look at: nhìn vào
Look for: tìm kiếm
Look up: tra từ( I usually look up words in the dictionary.)
Live on+ phố
Live with : sống cùng
Live at+ số nhà phố nào
Live in+ nơi nào đó còn lại
Prefer +V-ing + to + V-ing: : thích làm gì hơn làm gì

VII. Tính từ đi kèm với giới từ:
famous for: nổi tiếng về
different from: khác với..
interested in: thích/ quan tâm đến
fond of: thích
proud of: tự hào về
full of: đầy(cái gì)
good at: giỏi về
bad at: tệ về
afraid of.: sợ
famous for: nổi tiếng về
bored with: buồn vì
kind of: tốt bụng
