Edinburgh is the Capital of Scotland and one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It lies on hills and goes down to the sea. From the street in the centre of the city you can see ships coming from different countries.
	In the "old town" the streets are narrow. The Edinburgh castle is one thousand years old. The “modern town” lies at the foot of the hills. The streets here are well- planned, so it is easy to walk in the city when you go sightseeing. People say that only two cities in the world are so well-planned: Edinburgh and Sankt-Peterburg.
	Many great men have lived and worked in Edinburgh. Among them are Robert Burns, the great Scottish poet and Walter Scott, the father of historical novel.
