 Sir Arthur Conan Doy is famous for the writer of Sherlock Holmes stories. He was born in Scotland in 1859. he went to Edinburgh University and studied medicine. He worked as a docter several years, but when he was thirty-two, he became a full-time writer. He wrote romances, adventure stories, historical novel, but he was the detective stories that made him fame. He wrote the first story in 1887, while he was still a doctor and in the next twenty years he wrote fifty more. He died in 1930, aged seventy-one.
