I.Objectives
 Xác định vị trí của môn học đối với sự phát triển chung của toàn xã hội (là một công cụ tạo điều kiện hoà nhập với cộng đồng quốc tế và khu vực) tiếp cận 
những thông tin quốc tế về khoa học kỹ thuật, tiếp cận với các nền văn hoá khác cũng nh những sự kiện quốc tế quan trọng 
 Bảo đảm tính hệ thống hoá của bậc học, tính đặc thù của môn học, đặc điểm học sinh THCS, điều kiện dạy- học ngoại ngữ ở bậc THCS.
II.Contents
 Nội dung ngôn ngữ trong chơng trình nhằm cung cấp những kiến thức cơ bản của tiếng Anh trên các bình diện ngữ âm, ngữ pháp từ vựng và văn bản
 Xây dựng trên quan điểm, chủ điểm, giới thiệu qua ngữ cảnh.
 1.Subject: English
- Là một môn học không còn mới mẻ nữa
- Có vị trí quan trọng trong chương trình.
- Hình thành ở học sinh những kỹ năng cơ bản về tiếng Anh và những phẩm chất trí tuệ cần thiết để tiếp tục học , vận dụng đi vào cuộc sống lao động.
- Phát triển các kỹ năng cơ bản để sử dụng tiếng Anh như một công cụ giao tiếp đơn giản dưới dạng nghe- nói- đọc- viết.
- Có sự hiểu biết khái quát về văn hoá của các nước sử dụng tiếng Anh.
- “English 6” gồm 16 bài tương đương với 16 chủ đề được phát triển từ 6 chủ điểm lớn.
 2.The way of learning.
- Xác định đúng mục tiêu và phương pháp học tập để thu được kết quả tốt.
- Rèn luyện tốt kỹ năng nghe-nói-đọc-viết thông qua việc thực hành trên lớp,làm bài tập ở nhà.
- Chuẩn bị đầy đủ SGK,vở viết và vở bài tập.
- Thực hành tốt theo hướng dẫn của giáo viên, thực hành được càng nhiều càng tốt.
- Xây dựng môi trường học ngoại ngữ ở trường, lớp, ở nhà.
- Kiểm tra thường xuyên việc học tập ở nhà của học sinh.
