I. Warmer: - Greetings
 - Ask Ss some information about their last summer vacation:

II. New lesson:
1. Tenses: 
- How many tenses have you learn ? 
 - What are they ?
 - How are they used ?
- Ss answer. T writes on the board, one by one
1.1. Present simple :
 S + V / V(s/es)
 Ex : She reads books everynight.
1.2. Present continous :
 S + be(am/is/are) + V-ing
 Ex: I am studying E now.
1.3. Past simple :
 S + V-ed/irregular
 Ex: I watched TV at 8 o’clock last night.
1.4. Future :
 S + will / shall + V
 Ex : They will go to Lan’s house tomorrow.

Exercise : Put the verbs in backets in the correct forms.

Set the scene :
- Who are they? Hoa Lan
- What are they doing?
 Hoa is talking to Lan - her new friend in Ha Noi about Nien, her next-door neighbor in Hue. Today we will know more about Nien.
I. Presentation:

Lan : What a lovely smile !. Was she your classmate?
Hoa: No, She wasn't old enough to be in my class.
 - T reads twice. Then T guides Ss to read the dialogue.
 - Ss practice reading from open to closed pairs.
 - Ss complete the dialogue. T checks.
3. Concept check:
Look at the sentence: She wasn't old enough to be in my class
T. calls 3 Ss to read it then translate it into Vietnamese.
Form:
 S + be (not) + adj + enough + to inf.
Use : Đủ (không đủ ) ................................ để làm một việc gì đó.
Pronunciation: enough /i’n^f/
II. Practice :
1. Drill: Word- cue Drill
 1. She/ not strong/ enough/play soccer 3. They/ tall / play volleyball
 2. He/ old/ enough/ drive 4. Lan/ skillful / make a new dress.

2.Answer the questions
 Have Ss read the dialogue between Hoa and Lan (P.10) and answer the questions (a-
 >d -P.11) –Pairwork
a) Who are Lan and Hoa talking about?
b) What does she look like ?
c) What did Hoa receive from her friend?
d) Was Nien Hoa's classmate?
e) Which sentence tells you that Hoa is older than Nien?
III. Production:
ã Ask Ss to read the dialogue and answer the questions a - d (page 11)
 Ss answer individually. Then compare with their partners.

 Ss write a short paragraph (5-6 sentences)to describe their partner/friend.

B. Procedures:
Warm up: 
 -Greetings
 -Check old lesson	 
Have Ss tell something about Bao , Song and Khai.
Example : Bao is sociable. He is kind and generous. He spends his free time doing volunter work....
I. Pre Writing
 	- Show Ss the poster.
- Have them read the information about: Le Van Tam
1- Have Ss read the passage about Le Van Tam (P.15) then answer the questions to check understanding.
What is his name? (Le Van Tam)
How old is he? (14)
What does he look like? (He is tall and thin. He has short black hair)
What is he like? (He is sociable, humorous and helpful)
Where does he live? (He lives at 26 Tranphu Street)
