	Barbara Morgan’s dream was to travel into space. One day, her wish came true. She was one of the seven astronauts on the Space Shuttle Endeavour, which took off into space from NASA’s Kennedy Space Station in Florida.
	Morgan taught at an elementary school in Boise from 1975-1998, with some time off for astronaut training. In 1985, she and Christa McAuliffe were chosen from 11,000 applicants to become part of the teacher-in-space program. They trained together for the mission. But then, tragedy happened. On January 28,1986, the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded. After the Challenger accident, Morgan continued to teach. In 1998, she was asked again to become an astronaut. She accepted the offer and in the end her dream came true.
