The united nations
In 1945 leader from 51 countries (1)  in San Francisco,
California and organized the united nations (often called the UN). World War 2

Em nhaän ñöôïc thö cuûa baïn Jane baùo cho em bieát laø Jane seõ ñeán Haø Noäi
hoïc tieáng Vieät ôû moät tröôøng ñaïi hoïc vaø baïn aáy muoán bieát laø baïn aáy
phaûi chuaån bò nhöõng gì. Em haõy vieát thö traû lôøi baïn aáy vôùi nhöõng noäi
dung chính nhö sau:
-	caûm ôn baïn ñaõ göûi thö vaø raát vui möøng vì baïn seõ sang thaêm
vieät Nam
-	Neáu baïn ñeán hoïc ôû Vieät Nam thì vaán ñeà ñaàu tieân baïn gaëp phaûi
laø ngoân ngöõ. Do ñoù, tröôùc khi sang ñaây, baïn neân ghi teân
(enroll) vaøo hoïc khoaù Tieáng Vieät caáp toác(intensive courses)
-	Vaàn ñeà thöù hai baïn gaëp phaûi laø khoù khaên khi baïn phaûi soáng ôû
moät neàn vaên hoaù khaùc laï, xa gia ñình vaø baïn beø. Ñoâi khi baïn
seõ caûm thaáy raát coâ ñôn.(lonely)
-	Veà choã ôû, baïn ñöøng lo. Baïn coù theå soáng ôû moät caên hoä trong
khu kyù tuùc xaù (boarding house) cuûa tröôøng hoaëc baïn coù theå
thueâ nhaø chung vôùi caùc baïn khaùc (share a house). Giaù thueâ ôû
ñaây raát phaûi chaêng, chæ khoaûng 600USD/ thaùng/ moät nhaø goàm
4 phoøng nguû.
-	Veà thöïc phaåm ö? Toâi nghó raèng baïn seõ raát thích caùc moùn aên ôû
ñaây vì coù raát nhieàu loaïi vöøa ngon vöøa reû.

1.	It is very interesting and useful to swim in summer
2-3.	Smoking is harmful for three reasons. Firstly, it is a very costly habit
4.	Secondly, smokers get lung cancer more easily than non-smokers
5-6.	Finally, most non-smokers hate the smell of tobacco and they do not
want to sit near someone who will puff smoke all over them
7-8.	Many people move to cities to get jobs because they can earn two to ten
times as much as people in the country

children so they could give them a better life

Dear Jane,
-	Thank you very much for your letter. I am glad that you are going to study
Vietnamese in Hanoi
-	If you come to study in Vietnam, the first problem you have is the language.
Therefore, before you come here, you should enroll in Vietnamese intensive courses
-	The second problem you expected to meet is the difficult of living in strange
culture, far away from home, family and friends. Sometimes you feel very lonely
-	Don’t worry about accommodation. You can live in a flat of a school boarding
house or share a house with your friends. The rent is very reasonable (only about US
$600 per month for a house with four bedrooms)
-	What about food? I think you are going to enjoy dishes here because there are a
lot of dishes which are not only cheap but also very delicious
-	About clothes, don’t carry too many garments with you because they are very
nice and cheap here. You can dress casually and comfortably in Vietnam. Moreover, it
is neither too hot nor too cold here
-	Although there will be above-mentioned problems, there will always be fellow
students and others (who will be) ready to help you
-	I am looking forward to meeting you in Hanoi
