HIBERNATION SYNDROME
Line
I don’t know about you, but come to the winter months , my body
seems to require more sleep than in summer and I’m definitely at
my happiest when I’m being curled up in a hedgehog – style ball.
“Wanting to sleep more in winter is not natural and nothing to
worry about , unless you are sleeping for more than twelve hours a
day”, says sleep expert Dr James B. Maas. The reason for we feel
drowsy has as much to do with our biochemistry as it does so with
wanting to sniggle up like a couch potato indoors. “It’s all to do
with melatonin”, explains Dr Maas, “ a hormone with which is
secreted by the brain’s pineal grand in response to darkness”.
They may feel more sleepy, but as many people find getting to
sleep in winter is a problem. It’s hardly surprising.

Some Bigfoot fans remain unconvinced by the (7) , though. They claim it is extremely (8). that something as small as a zip fastener could be reliably identified on such an old film. In (9). they say that the creature caught on camera does not

Question 5 (16 points). Read the passage below and choose the correct answer for each question. Write it in ‘Your answers’ part.
Byrne turned the key in the heavy lock and put it calmly in his pocket. He did so much more from caution than any kind of fear. This was the only entrance to the house, and he did not mean to be caught unware by any danger from outside. He wondered if Tom Corbin had been as cautions the night before. Though Tom would be away for at last three days, Byrne had a strange feeling of his nearness, for the tricks of hearing are the most realistic of all, but there were only the women. It seemed impossible that Tom should not be there.
The girl, carrying a smoky oil lamp, led Byrne upstairs. He threw open one after another the doors along the passage. At this, the girl stopped and raised the lamp in each doorway, staring at meanwhile. Satisfied he was the only guest, Byrne came to the last door, which the girl threw open herself.
“You sleep here, sir,” she said, giving him the lamp. “Your friend slept here too. It’s our most comfortable.”- “Good night miss,” he said politely.
Her lips moved in reply, but he did not catch the words. Her eyes never for a moment left his face. He stepped in, and as he turned to close the door she was still standing there motionless. He paused, and in the silence he thought he again heard the sound of Tom’s voice. The sound terrified him now, not only because it seemed much nearer but also because he imagined a note of warning in it.
He shut the door in the girl’s face then, leaving her in the dark. He opened it again almost at once. She had disappeared without a sound. He closed and bolted the door. A deep mistrust suddenly took possession of him. Why had that girl stared at him so? Did she wish to remember him clearly? It was as she knew that she was seeing his face for the last time.
