1.Last December our Geography teacher, Mrs. Taylor, took us to Yorkshire on a school trip. We left Liverpool at 8.00 a.m. on Saturday morning and finally arrived in York at 11.00 p.m. Then it started to rain. 
We woke up early on Sunday morning and looked outside. There was water everywhere. We went downstairs for breakfast, but the kitchen in the hostel was flooded.
Sunday afternoon was terrible too. Two girls hired bikes and rode into the center of the city. But what did they do? They stole some sweets from a shop. So then the police came! Mrs. Taylor was furious!
We returned to Liverpool on Sunday evening. We were cold, wet and tired. Never again!
2.Vietnam's New year is celebrated according to the Lunnar calendar. It is officially known as Tet Nguyen Dan, of Tet. It begins between January twenty - first and February nineteen. The exact date changes from year ta yesr. Vietnamese people usually make preparations for the holiday several weeke pfferings on the familly altars. On the New Year' s Eve, people sit up to midnight to see the New Year in, then they put on new clothes and give one another the greetings of the season. Tet lasts ten days. The first three days are the most important. Vietnamese people believe that how people act during those days will influence the whole year. As a result, they make every effort to avoid arguments and smile as much as possible.
