 English speaking test for 8th form students
General Notes:
A.Total score: 10 points for 3 parts
B. criteria for for evaluating students’ speaking skill:
1. Fluency, Quick Response to every question( 20%)
2.Being informative, Coherence and Cohesion( 60%)
- Good and Relevant speaking content
- Use of appropriate language( tenses, structures and vocabulary, connectors,)
3. Pronunciation( 20%)
Speaking test Organization:
Part 1 – Warm up/ getting started( 4 points)
( Examiners use about 15 questions from the following list( or other questions) to ask each student in this part)
1.What ’s your name? 
2. Where do you live? How far is it form your house to school? 
3. How do you go to school? 
6.Where did you go last summer vacation?
7. What do you often do at the weekend?
9. Do you love hanging out with your best friends? 
10.Do you like computer games? When do you play it?
11. What is your favorite subject at school? 
12 . Which country speaking English you like most ? Why?
13. List of natural disasters
14. what ways of communication do you use in the present? In the future?
15. How many plannets are there in the solar system?
Part 2 – PERFORMANCE/ Giving presentation ( 5 points ) 
Examiners select 5 most suitable questions from the following list of speaking questions to use for every student in this part. 
After choosing one favorite question out of the 5 gives ones, each student has 2-3 minutes to prepare the answer to the selected question and she/he is expected to present his/her talk in at least 3 minutes.
List of speaking questions:
Tell me about types of pollution
Can you talk about causes of water pollution?
Can you talk about the effects of water pollution?
Can you talk about an English speaking country?
5.Can you talk about types of natural diasters, and preparations for natural disasters 
6.Can you talk about ways of communication, what is communication in the future?
7.Can you talk about about advantages and disadvantages of smart phones?
8. Can you talk about life on other planets?
Part 3- DISCUSSION/ Getting finished ( 1 point )
Students are expected to answer some more questions from the examiner(s) about something related to their presentation in part 1. At least two questions.
