1/ The present simple tense (Thì hiện tại đơn)
1.simple present tense of “ To Be”
 To Be: Is/are/am
a.Affimative form:
I : am
You/We/They: are
He/she/it :is 
 Ex : I am Ba He is Nam
b. Negative:(Thể phủ định)
S + be(is/am/are ) + not+ .....
 Note : Is not = isn’t Are not = aren’t
c. Interrogative:(Thể nghi vấn)
à Yes, + S + be.
Be(Is/Are /Am ) +S + ..... ?
à No, + S + be + not.
Ex: He is a student . He isn’t a student . Is he a student?
 à Yes, he is /No, he isn’t.
2 Caùch chaøo hoûi :
 a. Caùch chaøo hoûi thaân tình: Hi/ Hello
 Ex: Hi, Lan Hello ,Ba
 b. Caùch chaøo trang troïng: Good morning Good afternoon Good evening
 c. Hoûi thaêm söùc khoûe: - How are you? à I’m fine. Thank you. And you?
	 Or: I’m fine. Thanks. And you?
3. Ñeå giôùi thieäu teân mình
 I am.. My name is.
Note: I’m = I am My name’s = my name is

Hỏi sức khỏe:
 How + be + S ?
 à S + be + fine / well. Thanks / Thank you
Ex: How are you? àI’m fine. Thanks.
Hỏi tuổi:
 How old + be + S ?
à S + be + số tuổi + (years old).
Ex: How old is Hoa? à She is twelve years old.
Hỏi đồ vật:
 What are these / those ?
 à They are + Ns/es
 What + is this / that ?
 à It is + a / an + n
Ex: What’s this? Ex: What are those?
 à It’s a pen	 à They are books.
Hỏi nghề nghiệp:
a. What + do / does + S + do ?
 à S + be +(a/an )+ name of job.
Ex: What does your father do?
 à He is a doctor.
b.What + be +possessive adjective + job? 
 à S + be + a/an + Noun( ngheà nghieäp) 
 Ex: 
 What is Mr Lam’s job?- He is a doctor.
 What’s his job ?
c. What +be +S ?
S + be + a/an + Noun( ngheà nghieäp)

Hỏi nơi làm việc:
 Where + do / does + S + work ?
 à S + work(s) + place of work.
Ex: Where does he work? à He works in a hospital.
Hỏi ai đó sống ở đâu:
 Where + do / does + S + live ?
 à S + live(s) + in / on / at ......
Ex: Where do you live?
 à I live on Tran Phu Street.
Hỏi số lượng: 
 How many + Ns/es + are there + in/ on... ?
 à There is / are + ......
Ex: How many students are there in your class?	 àThere are forty – one. 
 a. Affirmative form:
 There is + a/an + sing- noun ( coù moät)
 There are + plural noun ( coù nhieàu..)
 Ex: There is a book on the desk.
 There are forty students in my class.
 b.Negative 
 There is not + a/an + sing- noun ( khoâng coù moät)
 There are not + plural noun (khoâng coù nhieàu..)
 Ex: There is not a book on the desk.
 There are not forty students in my class.
 c. Yes/ No question:
 Be + there + ?
 Ex: Is there a book on the desk?
 Are there forty students in your class ?
8.Plural form of noun(daïng soá nhieàu cuûa danh töø)
 a. Qui taéc chung:
* Soá nhieàu cuûa This à these
 Soá nhieàu cuûa That à those

 a couch à couches.
* Ta theâm “ s/ es” phía sau danh töø khi chuyeån sang soá nhieàu.
 - Theâm “ es” sau caùc danh töø taän cuøng ( sh,s ,ch, x, z , )
b. Caùc tröôøng hôïp ngoaïi leä:
 * Neáu tröôùc “ o” laø moät nguyeân aâm ta theâm “s”
 Ex: bamboo à bamboos
 * Neáu tröôùc “ o” laø moät phuï aâm ta theâm “es”
 Ex: potato à potatoes
 Hero à heroes
* Neáu tröôùc “ y” laø moät nguyeân aâm ta theâm “s”
 Ex: a key àkeys

* Neáu tröôùc “ y” laø moät phuï aâm ta ñoåi y à i roài theâm “es”
 Ex: a baby à babies
* Neáu danh từ tận cùng là “f” / “fe” thì biến thành “v “ roài theâm “es”

 * Wh –questions ( caâu hoûi vôùi töø ñeå hoûi)
 a. Who: ai -> dùng chỉ người, làm chủ từ.
b. What: gì,caùi gì -> dïng chỉ vật, đồ vật , làm chủ từ 
c.Where : đ©u, ở đ©u -> chỉ nơi chốn.
d. How many + Ns/es ?  bao nhiªu 
e. How thế nào, c¸ch nào -> chỉ trạng th¸i, thể c¸ch, phương tiện.
