3. Read the following passage, and then answer the questions below. 
A good memory is a great help in learning a language. Everyone learns his own 
language by remembering what he hears when he is still a small cjild and some chidren 
like boys and girls who live abroard with their parents seem to learn two languages 
almost as easily as one. In school, it is not so easy to learn a second language becuase 
pupils have so little time for it, and they are busy with other subjects as well. 
The best way for most of us to remember things is to join them in our mind with 
something which we know already, or which we easily remember because we have a 
picture of it in our mind. That is why it is better to learn words in sentences, not by 
themselves, ot to see, or do, or feel what the word means when we first use it.

Once upon a time, there was a girl called Cinderella who did all the work in the 
kitchen while her lazy sisters did nothing. One night her sisters went to a ball at the 
palace. Cinderella was left at home, feeling very sad. After a time her fairy godmother 
appeared and told Cinderella that she could go to the ball, but she had to return home by 
midnight. So she went to the ball in a beautiful dress and a wonderful coach. She danced 
with the prince, but at midnight she ran back home, leaving one of her shoes on the dance 
floor. The prince wanted to see her again and went to every house in the capital until he 
found that the shoe was the right size for Cinderella. The prince and Cinderella were 
married and lived happily ever after.
