I. Complete the sentences, using relative pronouns.

III. Combine the following sentences, using When, Where.

IV. Reduce the following relative clauses, using participles and to-infinitive.
1/ The boy who is playing guitar is my brother.
2/ The ideas which are presented in that book are interesting.
3/ The last person who leaves the room must turn off the light. 
4/ They work in a hospital which was sponsored by the government.
5/ He was the first person who saw Mr. Smith
6/ Do you know the woman who is coming toward us?
7/ The children who attend that school receive a good education.
8/ The man who spoke to John is my brother.
9/ The man who gave her the book is my father.
10/ This is the dog which the boy hit in the garden.
11/ The couple who met me at the station took me out to dinner.
12/ We’re talking the train that leaves at 6.00.
13/ Mark is the only man who reach the top of the Everest.

Combine the sentences using the second sentence as a nonrestrictive relative clause. 
Example: Our new ambassador just joined us last week. She is from New York City.
_The new ambassador, who is from New York City, just joined us last week._
1. Thomas Jefferson was the first U.S. Secretary of State. He was appointed on September 26, 1789.

III / REWRITE THE RELATIVE CLAUSES BY USING PHRASES :
The man who’s talking to the policeman has just returned home from Paris. 
The boys who’re playing in the school-yard are in our class. 
The novel which was bought by my sister is very interesting. 
The students who make noise in class will be punished. 
People who are waiting for the bus often shelter in my doorway. 
Passengers who travelled on this bus bought their tickets in books. 
Do you see the notice which warns people not to enter the military zone ? 
There is a law which forbids hunting and fishing in this area.

IV / REPLACE THE PHRASE WITH A RELATIVE CLAUSE :
We have a lot of reports to finish before the boss returns.
